How to find your calling when you have too many passions

How to find your purpose and your path when you have a multitude of passions

Have you ever felt the pressure of having to choose ONE passion for your life?

That silent but omnipresent injunction that pushes you to specialize, to lock yourself into a well-defined box?

I deeply understand this feeling.

For years, I struggled against this part of me that was interested in everything - sometimes fascinated by science and psychology, sometimes immersed in process optimization, then captivated by entrepreneurship, productivity, and so many other fields. I changed my studies three times and I pivot every three years, out of weariness and a need for renewal...

The system has programmed us to believe that we have to choose.

Traditional education, inherited from the industrial model, was designed to format specialized and interchangeable beings.

No wonder you feel constrained by this framework if you have a curious and multidimensional mind.

In this newsletter, I will share with you the keys to fulfillment when you have multiple passions and multiple potential.

đź’ˇHow to turn your many passions into a creative force

Good news: the world has changed!

In our era of rapid transformation, multipotentialites like you now have a considerable advantage:

  • AI is gradually replacing purely technical specialists

  • Jobs are changing too fast for unique expertise to remain fixed

  • Non-linear paths have become the new norm

Whereas a specialist remains confined to their field, you can navigate between several universes, forge new links and create innovations that no one else could conceive.

But...

Why the Ikigai is a trap for multipotentiality

You have surely already seen this famous Ikigai diagram.

This Japanese concept is represented by four overlapping circles: what you love, what you are good at, what the world needs, and what you can get paid for.

At first glance, it's appealing. Finding that unique focal point where everything aligns perfectly.

But for a multipotentialite, it's a real mental trap.

Here's why:

It presupposes ONE perfect intersection. As if you had to find THE one thing where all your interests converge.

It pushes you to constant elimination.

You spend your time wondering “is this really my number one passion?” instead of creating.

It reinforces the idea of a “unique professional destiny” waiting to be discovered, when in reality it is much more fluid and evolving.

I have seen so many multi-talented people paralyzed by this impossible quest for the perfect intersection, feeling guilty for not having found “their” ikigai.

The truth is that multi-talented minds don't work like that.

We are not made for a single static ikigai, but for several areas of interest that evolve, combine and enrich each other over time.

A liberating approach: the personal creative ecosystem (the famous common thread)!

Instead of trying to confine everything to a single intersection, imagine your journey as a living ecosystem where your different passions coexist, influence and feed each other.

In this ecosystem, some projects are at the forefront today, others are in the exploration phase, and still others are in the making.

And that's perfectly normal.

This perspective frees you from the pressure of having to artificially unify everything into a single activity. How to turn your diversity into a creative force

If you really want to tap into your multidimensional potential, here are three fundamental pillars:

1. Develop a vision that connects your passions

Instead of dissipating your energy, look for the common thread that connects your interests.

Ask yourself these questions:

  • What are my 5-7 areas of interest?

  • What unique connections can I make between them?

  • What combination makes me truly irreplaceable?

I personally discovered that my fascination with cognitive psychology, organizational systems and entrepreneurship naturally converged towards a unique approach to productivity - which gave birth to Flowtasking.

2. Build a presence that carries your message

Your unique blend of talents can only have an impact if you know how to share it.

It is crucial to:

  • Express your singular vision through authentic content

  • Cultivate a community that resonates with your perspective

  • Master the art of telling your atypical story

A well-told story naturally attracts opportunities aligned with who you really are.

3. Create your own model of success

Forget the conventional paths.

You can forge your own model:

  • Expert curator who merges several fields of knowledge

  • Versatile creator who monetizes an audience through various formats

  • Creative entrepreneur who develops innovative hybrid solutions

An invitation to action

If you have multiple potentialities, stop apologizing for having too many interests.

You are not indecisive, you are ahead of your time.

The real question is no longer “what should I choose?” but “how can I integrate all my passions into a meaningful project?”
