How summer affects the rest of your year

Don't underestimate the impact of summer on the rest of your year...

Summer is more than just a break: it's a strategic opportunity and a chance to gain a big advantage over the rest of the year, and even a competitive edge for entrepreneurs and freelancers!

Many athletes take advantage of the summer to get back into “beast mode” for the new season... You can too!

Personally, I didn't like this season: everything's slowed down, there are people everywhere, it's sometimes heavy, and you feel like you have to follow a rhythm... Until I changed my summer mindset and types of activities during this period...

Here's what I've learned and applied every summer for years, and how it's positively impacted the rest of the year:

🌞 Don't underestimate the impact of summer on the rest of your year

We often associate the summer season with vacations or the constraints of a rhythm imposed by the environment...

The problem is that we can't control a cyclical and cultural element, nor the weather!

But we can look at this period differently. It's an opportunity to slow down, take stock, get ready, do things that we wouldn't do the rest of the year, and which will play a major role in our state, our projects and our progress.

It's an opportunity to...

Take stock:

  • Summer is the ideal time to evaluate your annual objectives and make the transition from the first to the second half of the year a success.

  • Identify what's working, what's not and what needs to be adjusted.

  • Celebrate what's worth celebrating too :)

Training and practice:

  • Use this quieter time to read, train, catch up on training put aside...

  • Develop new skills that will strengthen your expertise.

  • Train physically and mentally, alone or with support (I have a special summer sports and mental routine).

Disconnect to reconnect:

  • Take breaks to really rest and disconnect.

  • Recharge your batteries outdoors.

  • Let go of networks, emails and screens for a while if you feel the need, without it having a huge impact on your activities (summer being quieter).

Set up new routines:

  • Try out new productive habits, such as a morning or evening routine.

  • Experiment with time management techniques with fewer stakes and deadlines.

  • Observe your “natural” rhythm and adjust once you're back on track (I'm doing this a lot with my clients at the moment).

Move ahead with creative projects and planning

  • It's a good time to move forward on a writing or creative project.

  • Make your plan for the last 4 months of the year

  • Refine your strategy

These practices have helped me approach each final stretch of the year with greater clarity and energy.

But above all:

Having tested routines and followed specific workouts, I perform better for the rest of the year.

I'm also taking the opportunity to observe my natural rhythms and step back enough in introspection to improve my organization for the rest of the year.

It's a bit like a period of transition and preparation that you can “surf” instead of fighting!

You don't arrive back in September, going back to work, trying to get back into a rhythm and end up underwater...

You're ready and in your best version!
