The Decision Dilemma: Persist, Pivot, or Quit?

How to handle this dilemma

Let's talk about that decision dilemma we all face:

Should I continue, pivot, or abandon this path entirely?

This question haunts you as you stare at the ceiling at 3 AM.

You wonder if you're being stubbornly persistent or intelligently persevering.

Is it worth continuing to invest in this direction? Especially when the future is uncertain?

And what if this indecision itself is costing you more than any mistake would?

Between us:

There isn't ONE right path, but thousands.

What paralyzes us is the illusion of finding THE perfect decision.

While you hesitate, life passes by. The real failure isn't making mistakes—it's remaining frozen.

I love Muhammad Ali's perspective: "I don't believe in making the right decision, I make a decision and then make it right!"

But it's still important to know how to make them right. Here's how:

How to know you're on the wrong track?

đź”´ You feel constantly exhausted, without valid reason
đź”´ The initial enthusiasm has transformed into a daily chore
đź”´ You're stagnating despite sustained efforts after exhausting all resources
đź”´ You continue solely out of fear (of judgment, of having "wasted time," or loss aversion)

Sometimes, it's not about making a radical decision to stop—there might be changes to make, either on your own or with outside help from someone with experience or perspective you lack.

Perhaps you're approaching things incorrectly, carrying unnecessary burdens, or simply no longer aligned with your path.

The difference between stubbornness and perseverance:

Stubbornness is continuing without evolving. Perseverance is moving forward while adapting.

A project worth continuing isn't the one with the most potential, but the one that still resonates with who you are today.

Perseverance is glorified, but sometimes, abandoning a path is the most courageous decision.

It's not failure—it's freeing up space for something more aligned.

What if your greatest fear—"wasting time"—is exactly what makes you waste the most time?

Clarity never comes from waiting. It always comes from daring to ask yourself the right questions.

What decision are you postponing out of fear of making a mistake?

Your body and mind are sending you a message. Are you ready to listen?

Here are 3 questions that changed everything for me:

1. Does it feed my infinite game?

Every project should serve a greater quest, an endless game that deeply motivates you.

If what you're doing only feeds your ego or bank account, exhaustion will inevitably come.

2. Does the process energize me, even through difficulties?

Results are fleeting, but the process is your daily life.

If you hate every day of the journey, no destination is worth that suffering.

3. Are there micro-signals of progress, even subtle ones?

Success is never a straight line, but a constellation of small victories.

Look for tiny clues showing you're advancing, even slowly. This might be in your personal transformation, not just external results.

I've abandoned projects after 2 years of hard work. I've pivoted completely when I was 3 meters from the finish line. I've persevered when everyone told me to stop.

A video is coming next week about the behind-the-scenes of my pivot over the last 3 years—what it involved, the strategic decisions, and how it unfolded (it saved my mental health and my business's health).

What made the difference?

Clarity on my values and my infinite game.

The real question isn't "Will this work?" but "Does this bring me closer to who I want to become?"

How do you distinguish between stubbornness and perseverance? What project are you hesitating about right now?

In the flow with you,

Jo
